FAQ about the markets we serve

  • Do you ever take projects in the residential market?

    We do take on a substantial number of site development projects for large-scale residential developments. However, we do NOT pursue work for individual home-owners in the form of driveway pavement or repair, single lot grading, or concrete flatwork.
  • How many contractors do you work with?

    Abernethy maintains long-standing partnerships with between 15-20 developers across all markets we serve. These result in regular collaboration and strong working relationships. We are always open to meeting new developers, general contractors, and municipal leaders to discuss working together.
  • Do you work in government, medical, or educational markets?

    Yes, Abernethy Contracting is experienced in specialized markets like government, education, medical, and others. Although that makes up a smaller percentage of our work, we are always open to considering projects that bring value to our communities.
  • How far outside Charlotte will you consider working?

    It's important to us as a company to operate close enough to our home offices that our employees can be with their families each night. For this reason, we limit our geographical area to locations within 1-2 hours of our office. We are open to considering work beyond this area for the right project, however it is not our standard practice.
